Dr. Henry Hulst was born in Friesland province, the Netherlands, on June 25, 1859, the son of Rev. L. J. Hulst. Henry came to Ill. in 1859 and to Grand Rapids (Mich.) in 1876. Initially, Henry studied theology, but in 1888 he graduated as the president of his class from the medical school of the University of Michigan.
